Information For Parents

I am available for phone calls during my Planning period which is from
 8:15- 9:45 Each Health student is required to have a Health 3 ring binder to use as a notebook.  Our text books cannot leave the classroom and a notebook serves as the student's textbook.

Students in Health will switch to Physical Education after 9 weeks. Physical Education students are required to purchase a South Iredell Physical Education uniform which is $15.

          Physical Education and Health Essential Objectives
 

1. Students will assess their own health status and accept responsibilities for their own health.

2. Students will develop an awareness of their own control over stress.

3. Students will interpret the importance of various health risks.

4. Students will provide examples of how nutrition and physical activity contribute to a healthy lifestyle.

5. Students will develop a personal healthful eating plan to meet nutritional requirements.

6. Students will choose not to participate in substance abuse.

7.  Students will understand the risks associated with  HIV/ AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases.

8. Students will identify the principles of cardiovascular and strength development.

9. Students will recognize the implications of cardiac disease on healthful living.

10.  Students will develop a competency in a variety of physical activity skills.

11.  Students will demonstrate teamwork and interpersonal skills with peers.
